A session targeting the eradication and control of invasive species was held today on Porto de Castelo Branco intervention area (Fai-Av-3). This session was supported by the team of Faial Nature Park and allowed the control of several exotic species in the area. The hottentot fig (Carpobrotus edulis), which covered a considerable amount of soil in this area of intervention, was the main target of the works. It is now expected that, with our support, the native species of the Azores will be able to recolonize the space that had been stolen by one of the most aggressive invasive alien species found on the Azorean coast.
